Be True to Yourself
You don’t need anyone’s permission to be true to yourself...We have the right to say NO to the demands of the world...
A 17-year-old high school boy charged in a school shooting rampage killing three students and wounding others. He is charged with three counts of aggravated murder, and will possibly be charged as an adult facing the possibility of a life sentence if convicted.
The question we’re all asking is why? What was his motive? What drove this student to bring a .22 caliber handgun and a knife on school campus? One theory circulating is bullying. Some of the students are reporting Lane was shy and targeted by bullies. He was an outcast. The story is far too familiar - student shoots other students when they can’t take the torment anymore.
Parents of Holy Angels received an in-service on ‘Bullying,’ and we are all aware that the first step is AWARENESS. Let’s remember this when we meet people different from us - they don’t dress like you, they don’t talk like you, they don’t walk like you, and they don’t look like you. These are not differences, they’re our own UNIQUENESS. We do not have the right to infringe upon another person’s life just because they’re unique. Let’s all do our part and be aware of this.
